Awesome little table. We don’t use the train side- my son already has a train set and we gave the little set that came with it to my niece.

We’ve had this since Christmas 2014. I ordered it for my four year old from Wal Mart because everywhere else was sold out (including Amazon!). I actually wound up painting and distressing it. I also modified it to make it more functional by adding magnetic knife bars and magnetic bins. My son plays with this table everyday. It’s well worth the money we spent on it. The only complaint I have is that the Legos won’t connect to the plates where the colors meet. Other than that, the Legos stick perfectly and come off easily. The storage space on the inside is perfect for keeping all of his little instruction booklets, but it’s roomy enough to keep pieces in, even if you wanted to use little containers to keep them organized. I included my collage of the table and how I modified it.

Also, I ordered little wooden chairs to go with this and the table isn’t really tall enough for this to work. A kid’s knees won’t fit under the table, so if they sit in the chair at the table, they’re a little too far away to comfortably play. However, I haven’t had any complaints from my son or his friends about kneeling or standing while building!

My kids absolutely love this table although they use the Lego side more than the map side. My daughter uses the map side more for drawing or putting together lego sets when she wants to sit on the floor. The table isn’t big enough to fit chairs underneath it, but the kids never mind sitting on the floor indian style, or even on their knees, when using the table.

It was easy to put together and has survived a year now. I have strong belief that it will last many more years to come. My kids are pretty tough on things and this has survived! It’s still as the strong as the day I put it together. It holds a boat load of Legos, or I can see that it could hold a bunch of trains and tracks as well if used as a train table more than legos. I highly recommend this table!!

My daughter is five and a little tall for her age. We bought her a drafting desk and swivel stool because she loves to draw and paint, however, we soon realized that she really wasn’t big enough for it yet, and it didn’t offer much in the way of storage. When Amazon Vine offered this item to me to review, I was a little concerned that my daughter would be too big for it, but I couldn’t resist when I saw all those storage cups, bins and trays. It arrived in a huge box, with picture instructions on how to assemble. I had never put together a piece of furniture made of plastic, but I assumed that it just snapped together or something, but you actually use screws, just like you would with wood. It went together quickly, and I set it up in my daughter’s room to wait for her to arrive home from school.

To say she was thrilled with it is an understatement. She loaded it up with all her markers, crayons and pencils and has been drawing ever since. It’s the perfect size for her right now, and I’m sure she’ll outgrow it in a year or two, but we love all the storage and easy access to her art supplies.

It’s made to be able to use with legos as well and comes with two base sheets that can be stored under the table on the insides of the legs when not in use.

First of all, this table was very easy to assemble. It’s made to be a building block table to be used with regular legos, but it can easily be used as a desk too, since the baseplates are removable. It has lots of pockets and bins where you can store all the legos and pencils and knick-knacks kids always have sprawled all around. So it’s a very comfortable and nice solution for little creative artists like my five year old.

My daughter immediately wanted it as a desk, so I had to remove one of the blue little storage plates that go on top so she had space to write. I’m putting up a picture in the customer’s pics, if you want to see it because they one with the little girl drawing on one side and the boy playing lego on the other is a bit misleading because the girl is at an angle facing the camera so you can’t really see that there’s not enough space to draw with the two blue plastic storage plates there. However, she also has her legos stored there, but we had to throw them in the bins because the normal-sized lego boxes that they come in like LEGO® Pink Brick Box (5585), don’t fit in the table’s shelves.

So overall, it has some defects, but you wont be disappointed. The biggest pro is the storage and organizing part and the fact that they can both, play and write in the same table.

Despite the relatively straightforward nature of assembly, our testers did encounter some issues. Some of the pre-drilled holes and pre-cut pieces were challenging to align, requiring strong hands to force into place.

When assembly is complete, the drawer can be difficult to open and close. However, once assembled, the table provides a broad, stable area that offers ample play space.

A Middle School Teacher TOP 100 REVIEWER…Great Train Table for Better Price…

My two-year-old daughter was playing with her trains on the dining room floor before we got this table. We were all constantly stepping on pieces, having to redo the track layout, etc. Now she can play for quite a while without wreaking “butt-zilla” havoc by sitting on everything.

She does sometimes still sit on the table next to the track, but the table is sturdy enough to hold her 30 lbs. just fine. And when she takes the track apart, at least the pieces are enclosed rather than being scattered all over the floor.

No need to buy the brand name (Thomas) tables…this one is so much less expensive and still solid. The drawer is also quite deep and long to store the rest of her train set accessories. We have several Melissa and Doug wooden toys and so far we’ve had no construction issues with them. With that said, there was one screw through one of the beams that hold the table top up that never really went in to the table edge. Like I said, though, it still holds plenty of weight.

Once she outgrows the train phase I’m sure she will still enjoy using clay, a dollhouse, or something else on it.

Note that it is quite large–about 48″ x 32″–so don’t get it if you don’t have room for it. We chose this one to accomodate her train set. Because it is so large we have it away from the wall so our daughter can walk around it on all sides. As she gets taller/able to reach farther (she’s currently about 35″), we’ll be able to put the long side up against a wall to save some floor space.

We gave it four stars instead of five because the drawer did not fit perfectly in the middle of the slot for it, nor does it sit flush against the table. It’s really a minor inconvenience, especially for the price, but it’s still fair to note that this isn’t the highest quality piece of furniture out there.

We bought it to use as a table for a dollhouse and also for puzzles, games, blocks, etc. We have an infant and toddler and we needed a way to keep small part toddler toys out of the infant’s reach. It’s a great height for our 2 1/2 year old. We have a large dollhouse on one side and there’s still plenty of room for small puzzles and other toys and play on the other side. The lip on the edge is perfect to catch toys from rolling off the edge – and also keep our toddler from dragging the dollhouse onto the floor. The underneath is open, so I slid a few baskets of toys on both sides and it’s all of a sudden doing double duty. The drawer is an ok size. I wish it was the entire length of one side – it seems a waste of space not to have it for storage. I was able to put two of our Melissa and Doug magnetic dress up doll trays with all the accessories inside. There’s still plenty of room for more in it, but it’s not large enough for puzzle boxes or board games and it’s really too large for lots of small toys. Once I have it a while I’m sure I’ll come up with a better use for it.

The top edges are all sanded and rounded off so no risk of bumping heads. There are also very small crevices on the sides where the table top fits on, but we’ve had no issue with toys getting stuck – the gap is probably less than a 1/4 inch.

Overall, very pleased. We also considered the Pottery Barn activity table, but at half the price, this is really a steal. Another home run for Melissa and Doug!

I love Tot Tutors products! They’re easy to put together, no screws, and no chewable pieces (I put the legos away until the boys are older). For my kids’ needs, this table suffices well! Love the colors – albeit primary – and the versatility is good. I realize that we’ll need to move on to something more sturdy as they get older, but for now – this is perfect! Tee Tee TOP 100 REVIEWER…Fits Standard Lego & Duplo Perfect-Quality Product-Reasonable Price…

I was apprehensive in buying this having read the bad reviews. I wanted to get a Lego table for my toddler but definately shouldn’t/can’t afford to dump a couple hundred bucks on one (especially since it’s for my youngest and last child). But I’m glad I took the risk. I assembled the table in no time, bent the chair legs out slightly having read in some reviews that they are prone to tipping, but didn’t seem to matter much and my 2 year old has been standing on, moving, sitting on these chairs with no problem and through all the toddler clumsiness and rough-housing, he hasn’t tipped over or fallen at all. The chairs and table do slide very easy when they get on non-carpeted surfaces though, like their on castors! (i.e. he uses the chairs to get into the fridge now, lol) But, still no falls or chair tips at all (neither due to human error or product fail). 🙂

The removable table top is of very good quality (table and chair surfaces are both strong solid plastic, legs are hollow and lighter but sturdy plastic). The base plate surface fits both standard Legos and Duplos perfectly, I tried both types myself, and my toddler and his older brothers had no issues or complaints, it’s like it’s a Lego brand table! SO glad I took the chance and bought this, worth every penny!

We purchased this table several years ago and it has moved across the ocean — twice. It’s still in very good shape.

It’s the perfect height for our small children to sit and use (when they sit still, of course!) and the bucket in the middle is a great place to store the Legos. It’s a bit hard for children to reach into the bucket to grab the blocks (they have to stand up to reach it), not a big issue. Just tighten the bolts every couple of months on the chairs and table…! One minor drawback: it’s hard to use the table for other activities, especially those that involve writing, because of the Lego “platters” that are on the table surface.

You can take them off, but there’s a small hole in the middle of each section (so you can easily lift out the platters) which can still make writing activities difficult. You could probably cut a small, thin piece of plastic or wood to put in the holes — or just cover the entire surface with a flat surface — if you wanted to use it for writing.

All in all, a great little play table and very good quality.

Awesome!! The table is large & very sturdy. Unlike any plastic generic setup out there. This table will last. Regarding concerns that holes are in the wrong spots or that they didn’t line up – or required a third party to complete the project – seems a little exaggerated. I was able to complete the set by myself, though it did take roughly 2 hours. Resist the urge to over tighten the bolts. Tighten all bolts once the table is complete. Apply a little pressure to align the pieces perfectly. No biggie.

The definitely appear disproportionate to the table, though it fits my nearly 5 and 7 year olds respectively. My 13 year is game to take a seat in one, it can hold his weight though he’s obviously much to big for it. Remember to regularly tighten up the chairs as you do with any assemble furniture. The paint on the chairs is easily scratched but easily touched up. Our set came w/ 3 building plates, which are interchangeable with the large duplo plates.

This set is superior to any other building block table, money well spent for any family that has some lego crazed kids.

We bought this table for our two-year-old grandson, and so far he seems to be enjoying his new plaything. It took about ten minutes to assemble the table, but it could easily take 30 minutes or more for some to put this thing together.

I like that the table has two sides, one for Lego play and the other for toy cars or trains. The two choices in table tops gives the toy some versatility. There is storage available under the table top; storing Legos there is problematic because the child can’t get to them when playing with the Lego side of the table. Toy cars and tracks are stored in Gabe’s table. The table has survived being pushed about and being stood on by Gabe. I wouldn’t want a bigger child to try standing on it.

My husb. and I bought this for our 4 year old son for his B-day. It took a very short time to put together and it’s AMAZING! It’s like 4 presents in one! The table, the lego top, and the train table and train set!! My son uses it with Duplo’s (the bigger legos) and they fit completely fine. It’s a great color that matches our living room decor so although it’s a kids table it is esthetically pleasing for the living room. The train-table top and train set is a HUGE added plus!!!!! The train side is so cute, when you turn over the lego top you see a landscape of a road with trees and water on the other side which is used to put the train set on. My son loves both sides and can’t get enough of it. There’s a large space under the top of the table that can be removed that you can store the train-set and a bunch of legos. Amazing amazing activity table and makes a great b-day present for a 4 yr old boy 🙂
